The wear of the contact wire can be determined by measuring the magnetic field around the contact wire and measuring the distance between passing pantographs.

Camera Sensor for Image Data

Depending on the positioning, a camera sensor can be used to direct numerous perspectives onto the overhead line system and the railway line. With the help of image processing, obstacles on the route can be detected. This can significantly improve the control, maintenance and security of the system.
